About Samuel D. Calder

Samuel D. Calder writes speculative fiction built for readers who like unease, unanswered questions, and the feeling that reality might be thinner than it looks.

Writing Philosophy

The best science fiction doesn't predict the future — it interrogates the present. Every story I write starts with a question I can't stop thinking about. What if the thing we built to save us decided we needed saving from ourselves? What if first contact wasn't what we expected? What if the real conspiracy is simpler and worse than the one we imagined?

I write at the intersection of technology, conspiracy, and the deeply human need to understand things that resist understanding.

The Pen Name

Samuel D. Calder is a pen name. The stories are real enough.
